Platyhelminthes are classified under the class of Platyzoa and they are also symmetrical bodied. They have 3 layers of tissue with organs and organelles. Their body contains no internal cavity. It doesn’t have a mouth or an anus but it has a blind gut. They have flat bodies and the sexually reproduce. They feed on smaller animals or smaller life forms that they can digest. There nervous system is made up of longitudinal fibers rather than a net formation. They come from the major groups of Cestoda, Monogenea, Trematoda, and Turbellaria. They are related to hundreds of different jellyfish and other types of corals that all have similar systems.
